Josh Winger

Wealth Management Team

Josh Winger joined the team in May 2022 as an intern and, following his college graduation in May 2023, will move into a client care team member role.

Josh is a Dayton native, graduating from Beavercreek High School in 2019. He currently resides in Beavercreek but plans to make a move shortly. Josh is currently a student at the University of Dayton, studying finance and accounting.

While in school, he enjoys getting involved with various intramural sports and Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA), where he prepares free tax returns for those making $60,000 or less, those with disabilities, or those who are limited English-speaking taxpayers.

His dad works at UD in the IT department, and his younger brother is a freshman at UD, studying graphic design. After graduating from UD, Josh will be studying for his Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 7, Series 66, and life and health Insurance exams. After he clears these exams, he will become a wealth advisor for the firm.

Josh wanted to get into the world of finance and investments in large part due to his grandpa, who taught personal finance and economics at UD for over 30 years. His grandpa was a very humble and driven person, and Josh would like to model that attitude and follow in his footsteps.

He enjoys the field because of how it can help people in otherwise difficult circumstances. Finance and financial planning can be difficult topics for many to understand, and it gives him great joy when he explains a concept or (eventually) gives a recommendation on something they originally did not understand. The smile and sigh of relief, knowing more than they did before and will be able to sleep better at night, gives Josh great pride and drive to become better. After interning at Russell for a little less than a year, he knows this is the place and the industry to be.

Outside of work, Josh is a fan of various sports teams, as he played baseball through high school. He enjoys cheering on UD basketball, the Cincinnati Bengals and Ohio State Buckeyes football teams, and the Cincinnati Reds.
